Who am I?

About Grace

International Psychologist

Born and raised in London (U.K.), I moved to Leiden, The Netherlands in 2015 to pursue my BSc in Psychology. In 2020, I graduated with my Master of Science in Clinical Psychology from Leiden University, with my thesis looking at the relationship between suicide and insomnia.

During my time at Leiden University, I worked mostly with expats & international students, meaning that I am comfortable working with people from a wide variety of backgrounds. I was able to help with problems that expats often encounter, such as homesickness, loneliness, & culture shock. I also have experience working with clients with mood disorders, anxiety disorders, panic attacks, burn-out, and self-esteem problems.

In my recent work, I have shifted my focus to working with clients experiencing grief or trauma. Whether you’re grieving the death of a loved one or experiencing other personal losses, such as the end of a relationship or being diagnosed with an illness, I’m available to compassionately support you through the stages of grief. I aim to provide a safe space and help you to learn the coping skills that will help you process what you’ve been through and help you to resume your life.

My identities as not only an expat, but also a member of the LGBTQ+ community, mean that I can empathise with the type of problems you might be going through. I feel passionately about working with expats & the LGBTQ+ community, as well as individuals affected by chronic illness & long-term health conditions.

I adopt a client-centred approach, combined with cognitive behavioural therapy techniques. This means I have a humanistic attitude to treatment, supporting you on your own journey of self-discovery. My aim is to focus on your needs, listen closely to you & provide a safe, non-judgemental space that is conducive to your growth & well-being.

What Do I Do?

Psychological support to the expat and LGBTQ+ community in The Netherlands

In my private practice, I offer psychological support to the expat and LGBTQ+ communities in English. I combine my education and training with my own experiences as a queer expat living in The Netherlands through a client-centered approach. I recognise that everyone has different needs, which is why I individually tailor my support to each of my clients and combine therapeutic techniques to find what best suits you.

My aim is to focus on your needs, listen closely to you & provide a safe space. It’s important to me that my clients feel in control of their sessions, their progress and their lives, which is why I work closely with all my clients to establish goals that are conducive to your personal growth

I understand the need for accessibility and convenience when it comes to therapy, which is why I offer my sessions online, so you can receive treatment from the comfort of your own home, or in person at my office in Den Haag – whichever suits you best.
